Ok, you have ideas, you know roughly what you want to build, you've got your domain name and set up a domain hosting account. Now what tools will you need and how do you build the website?

1. An HTML editor - cost: free to several hundred dollars.  Many good ones are free or under $100
2. A graphics editor - cost: often free, or under $40 on sale or with rebates
3. an FTP client program - cost: usually free or under $30. more about this later
